These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MyButler AI (“Service”), operated at mybutler.ai. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

MyButler AI is an AI-powered document conversion service that transforms PDF files into editable documents through optical character recognition (OCR) and layout analysis. The Service includes PDF upload, text extraction, document rendering, and export to formats such as DOCX and HTML.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

The Service offers Free, Starter, Pro, and Business plans with varying usage limits and features. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.

  • Billing cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis from the date of purchase.
  • Plan changes: You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • Grace period: If a payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period before your account is downgraded to the Free plan.

4. Usage Limits

Each plan includes a monthly page processing allowance. Pages are counted upon successful OCR completion. If you exceed your monthly limit, further uploads will be blocked until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade your plan.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or disrupt the Service
  • Use the Service for automated bulk processing beyond your plan limits
  • Share account credentials with others (except within Business plan team seats)
  • Upload documents containing malware or malicious code

6. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all documents you upload and all content generated from them. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your documents or their processed output.

By uploading a document, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process, store, and render it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when your data is deleted (either by you, by retention policy, or by account closure).

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of OCR output. You are responsible for reviewing processed documents.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

  • By you: You may delete your account at any time via your Privacy Dashboard. Account deletion permanently removes your data.
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
